Connection between osteocalcin and high animal fat diet and diseases:
*Vit K needed for osteocalcin to be activated
*Osteocalcin hormone is Vit K dependent to be activated.
*Osteocalcin, produced by osteoblasts, is involved in bone formation and mineralization, and also has hormonal functions related to glucose metabolism, testosterone synthesis, and muscle mass.
*Uncarboxylated: vitamin K is the inactive form that results when this carboxylation process is impaired, often due to vitamin K deficiency.
*Vit A,D,E,K is present in tallow, and especially in GRASS-FED tallow in the highest amounts.
*Green leafy vegetables
*Grain Fed tallow has higher LDL content and lower fat-soluble Vitamins necessitating inclusion of PLANT OILS: Avocado, Olive, Flax, Chia, (and all polyunsaturated seed oils)
*Diseases-Conditions caused by LOW Osteocalcin (insufficient Vit K in diet)-
Low Cholesterol-dependent Hormones (testosterone...)
Cognitive functions:
Neurodegenerative dx, MS, Parkinsons
Bone Metabilism:
Renal osteodystrophy, Osteomalacia, Osteoporosis, Pagets
Metabolic Syndrome:
type 2 diabetes (Insulin secretion),
obesity,
cardiovasculardisease.
AUTOIMMUNE Diseases: RA, Spondylosing Arthritis
Bc ADEK is plentiful in animal fats... Can we get enough in green leafy vegetables? I doubt it
